Code of Conduct for Members
To be considered a member of NMEA in good standing, a member shall:
- Uphold and abide by the by-laws and decisions of NMEA
- Pay all dues within the described time limits
- Select and offer for sale only those products which demonstrate their quality, features, warranties and fair value for the purchase price suggested
- Ensure the purchaser be fully informed about the product, its application, installation requirements, necessary licenses, warranty and service support prior to the purchase making a purchasing decision
- Provide and honor all published product warranties and warranty law for the product lines which the member manufactures or is an authorized dealer
- Assist and cooperate with fellow members of NMEA and actively promote and support NMEA in the public sector for the benefit of the marine electronics industry as a whole and to the best interest of the end use in general
- Actively participate, to the best of the member’s ability, in the regional and national meetings and activities as may be adopted by NMEA
- Actively support, to the best of the member’s ability, any of NMEA’s education and certification programs as may be adopted by the corporation
