Navtech Marine ElectronicsMarine Electronics TechnicianJob Description: Install, service and repair marine electronics equipment onboard ships. Test and troubleshoot equipment components and software. Work from wiring diagrams, schematics and manufacturer's tech manuals. Install various systems components (equipment, wiring, software) for new installations and retrofits. Extensively operate in the field onboard vessels. Work under minimal supervision. Job includes travel and overtime. Types of equipment include: Radars, ECDIS, GMDSS, SSAS, AIS, GPS, VDR, SVDR, Gyrocompasses, Autopilots/Steering, Fathometers, Speed Logs, Integrated Bridge Systems, Satcom, Satellite TVRO, VHF and HF Communications, Computer Systems and Networks, Entertainment systems, CATV and other marine electronic equipment. Complete familiarity with standard installation practices required. Bench work to component level required when practical. Perform radio safety inspections, VDR/SVDR installation and annual inspections, and EPIRB 5 year shore based maintenance.
