The NMEA strives to provide all members excellent benefits based on the membership categories below. NMEA Memberships are annual and run from January 1 to December 31 (Calendar year) . Dues are not prorated. New members who join in October, November, and December of any given year have their membership good through December 31st of the following year. NMEA members can only be associated with a single membership category. Being that NMEA is a marine electronics industry association, we only issue memberships to marine companies or individuals with an interest in marine electronics (associate members). To protect all members privacy, NMEA does not share email addresses with other members.
DEALER – Annual Fee: $475
A marine electronics business that routinely provides sales, service, and installation of marine electronics. The primary business activity and source of income for a NMEA Dealer member must be from the following three activities: marine electronics sales, installation, and service. The business must utilize a currently certified NMEA Basic Marine Electronics Installer (MEI) for installations.
Specific Category benefits (included with dues)
A marine electronics business that routinely provides sales, service, and installation of marine electronics. The primary business activity and source of income for a NMEA Dealer member must be from the following three activities: marine electronics sales, installation, and service. The business must utilize a currently certified NMEA Basic Marine Electronics Installer (MEI) for installations.

MASTER-DEALER – Annual Fee: $500
Master Dealers are NMEA dealers with a storefront / showroom and a facility for troubleshooting and repair of marine electronics. Master Dealers should have basic inventory of necessary parts available to facilitate quick installation or repair when possible. Master Dealers must have at least one Certified Marine Electronics Technician (CMET) or National Marine Electronics Technician (NMET) on staff and meet requirements for technical education. Master Dealers must buy direct from at least four NMEA Manufacturer Member companies which includes navigation and/or communications equipment. Additional requirements are detailed in the Master Dealer Application, which must be filled out annually and verified by NMEA staff.

Associate memberships do not qualify for member discounts on interface standard purchases (NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000, OneNet)
